Farcha I power plant Wartsila 18V32 short bloc engine replacement.
Through our collaboration with Wartsila project Finland, ALMAPPS successfully repowered the Wartsila 18V32 LFO short bloc engine in Farcha I Tchad. The project consisted of removing the old engine bloc from the powerhouse, installation of the new short bloc engine, major overhaul of the alternator, overhaul of all auxiliary equipment, installation and commissioning of ALFA LAVAL Separator, commissioning of the generator, start up and hand over to the customer.
DEUTZ SBV 6M628 engine replacement onboard MV PERFORMANCE.
The start board engine (DEUTZ SBV 6M628) of MV PERFORMANCE belonging to DOUALA PORT AUTHORITY suffered a major failure and need to be replaced. Because DEUTZ engines of this series are already out of the market, there was no possibility to find a new replacement engine for the vessel. The customer contacted ALMAPPS for a replacement solution and with our expertise in the domain we removed a fairly used engine from a ship in Europe transported it to Douala Cameroon. This engine was then refurbished and installed in the ship. Our collaboration with QuantiParts facilitated the purchase of OEM spare parts that were used.
The major highlights of the job consisted of, cutting of the deck, removal of the old engine, installation of the fairly used engine, rehabilitation of the fairly used engine, alignment and chock fasting of the engine, electrical and automation installation, commissioning of the engine, start up and sea trials.
